For Families: Free Child Care Information and Referrals

Hampden and Hampshire Counties:
If you have questions like these and need care in Hampden County (including the Springfield and Greater Springfield areas, as well as surrounding communities such as Holyoke, Chicopee, Westfield, Wilbraham, Palmer, and Agawam) or in the following Hampshire County communities: Easthampton, Granby, Huntington, Middlefield, Southampton, South Hadley, Ware and Worthington.  We can help.

Outside of Hampden/Hampshire Counties, but within Massachusetts:
If you need care in Massachusetts, but outside of Hampden/Hampshire Counties, visit  www.eec.state.ma.us/  for the resource and referral agency in your area.

Others:

We Make Finding Child Care Easier.

Finding a quality center or program for your child takes time and energy, but it is the most important step toward a successful child care experience. Whether you are trying to find child care for your infant, toddler, preschooler, school age child, or child with a disability, the Preschool Enrichment Team Child Care Specialists, located in the heart of Springfield, Massachusetts, are ready to guide you through the process by answering your questions. They can give you information about child care centers and programs in the Springfield area and throughout Hampden County and several towns in Hampshire County, or refer you to a similar agency in your area. P.E.T. can help determine if you are eligible for subsidies, explain the different types of programs, and help you develop and maintain a relationship with your provider.

Call 413-736-3900 to speak with a Child Care Specialist or use the interactive child care referral form to begin the process. With funds from the Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services and the Department of Education, these services are available at no charge.

The Hampden County Catchment Area includes: Agawam; Blandford; Bondsville; Chester; Chicopee; East Longmeadow; Feeding Hills; Granville; Hampden; Holyoke; Longmeadow; Ludlow; Monson; Montgomery; Palmer; Russell; Southwick; Springfield; Thorndike; Three Rivers; Tolland; Westfield; West Springfield; Wilbraham; and Woronoco.

If you get lost or the doors of the building are locked, call 736-3900 and press ext. 120
Mass Pike Exit 6 - Springfield, at light at end of ramp turn left onto Rt. 291. Follow Rt. 291 to Exit 2B Dwight Street Exit, at end of ramp take left at light (this is Dwight St.). Through 4 sets of lights, turn right onto Bridge Street. Our office, at 293 Bridge Street, is on the left next to Cafe Manhattan.
From Rt. 91 South Exit 7 Downtown Springfield - stay in left lane and turn left at light, then left again onto E. Columbus. Turn right onto Worthington, through one light (Main St.) turn right onto Stearns and right onto Bridge Street. Our office, at 293 Bridge Street, is on the left next to Cafe Manhattan.
From Rt. 91 North Exit 4 Broad St., you are on East Columbus. Go through lights, turn right onto Worthington, right onto Stearns, right onto Bridge Street. Our office, at 293 Bridge Street, is on the left next to Cafe Manhattan.
