College & Career Advancement

Academic and Career Advising for Early Childhood and Out-of-School-Time Educators in Western Mass!

  • Do you need a course or workshop to meet your individual professional development plan or EEC certification requirements?
  • Are you interested in going to (or going back to) college?
  • Are you a supervisor and have staff who need to increase their credentials to move your program forward on QRIS?

The Educator and Provider Support Program of Western Mass (EPS Region 1) can help!

The Educator and Provider Support grant program at Preschool Enrichment Team, a program of Valley Opportunity Council, provides training and college coursework for educators in Family Child Care, Preschool and Out-of-School-Time programs within Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties.

We provide educators with free career planning, coaching and mentoring around gaining EEC Certifications and QRIS advancement, creating individual professional development plans (IPDP), enrolling in CEU and college courses and working towards degree attainment. To further support working professionals we contract with area colleges, especially community colleges, to subsidize courses especially for ECE and OST educators at times and places that are convenient and affordable! Costs for these courses are $50 for the student. These might take the form of “cohort” classes specifically for ECE and OST professionals, or “individual seats” in regularly scheduled courses offered by one of the many colleges in our area.
