The Family Child Care Professional Learning Community will read and discuss the new book Really Seeing Children by Deb Curtis. “Through her collection of stories and photographs, learn to suspend your adult agenda to really see children’s perspectives and the amazing ways they experience the world. Taking up this practice will bring joy and deeper understanding to your work and life and allow you to engage with children in a more meaningful teaching and learning process.” For more information about this resource see: https://www.childcareexchange.com/catalog/product/really-seeing-children/4000569/
Topics include: Seeing Children, Planning Environments to Help You See Children, Seeing Children with Others, Seeing Children and Theories of Development, and Sharing the Stories of Seeing Children. Discussions about the topics in the book and how we experience who children are will be held on an ongoing basis. Participation in this PLC meets the QRIS standard that asks that the “Educator establishes ongoing communication with other family child care providers in the community or community agencies to exchange information and resources.”
