Out-of-school time educators will explore the new Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Framework adopted by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in January, 2016. This training will be full of hands-on activities for OST educators of children in grades K-5. Participants will learn how to conduct investigations of light and shadows, use evidence to explain that different animals use their body parts and senses in different ways to see, hear, grasp objects, protect themselves, and move from place to place, and use a model to describe the cycling of water through a watershed. We’ll discuss how to start a Science Adventures Club in your after school program and take a close look at science, technology, and engineering curriculum resources available to educators and youth.
